Bulusan's Heritage Trees

Pili trees in Odikin rule the village landscape.

Wild grown Pili trees dispersed naturally by wild animals notably the tarictic and kalaw.

Barangay Santa Barbara referred to as Odikin by Bulusanons has the most impressive standing pili trees in terms of number (tree population per square meter) and age located in an area within the barangay residential vicinity. Walking under the canopy of these ancient and massive trees was so surreal. It was like I was transported in the Kingdom of the Pili trees.  I felt a strong feeling of awe and respect to a place that is most probably the original habitat of the pili species in the world.
